In my many years of writing, I’ve explored diverse genres, including creative nonfiction, fiction, science writing, technical reports, research documents, and copy for clients. You can view my writing by clicking on the images associated with the articles.
Personal Writing
JHT, Inc., a Precise Systems Company
JHT, Inc., a Precise Systems Company, is a government contractor that supports many agencies. Under my contract, I supported the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) as the sole technical writer/editor. In my position, I edited countless research, training, and public-facing documents. Additionally, I was a primary contributor to the Special Observance program as a researcher, writer, and producer of educational projects revolving around federally recognized observances (e.g., Black History Month, Women’s History Month, etc.).
Technical Writing/Editing
In my role as technical writer/editor, I was the only editor to proofread, correct, and provide feedback for my entire team’s output. I would provide revisions and copy edit many different kinds of materials, often under tight deadlines. Below are just some examples of the kinds of projects I’d edit and contribute to. Because of presidential executive orders issued in 2025, much of my work was taken off of our client’s primary website, but some still exists on the Internet Archive, linked via each image below.
Federal Special Observances
While serving as the technical writer/editor for JHT’s contract with DEOMI, I became one of the primary contributors to the Special Observance program, which created products for military and government components to celebrate various cultures in the United States. Before the program was eliminated due to presidential executive orders in 2025, it became the most downloaded content from the institute’s website. Because of its elimination, the products’ viewability is limited and only available through the Internet Archive links below.
GRM Information Management
GRM Information Management is an Enterprise Content Management company focused on data management across many industries like healthcare, banking, and human resources. Below, you can see some examples of my blog posts I’ve written for them.
Teaching Writing at Penn State
At Penn State University, I taught students from diverse backgrounds about different kinds of writing and research techniques. In particular, this course focused on rhetorical analysis and how to structure an argument. Below are some samples of the classes I taught via Zoom.
Phroth Humor Publication
During my time at Penn State, I got involved with Phroth, the campus comedy publication. I served as lead designer, head writer, and finally editor-in-chief of the newspaper/magazine. While in charge, I also set up our website to increase viewership and presence. You can view full issues, which I led in creating, under the “Design” tab on this website or on the Phroth website.
